Hello, my name is Marlana.
I’m originally from St. Louis, and have lived around the country and around the world. I’ve been obsessed with travel before I knew what wanderlust meant. I’d carefully study my father’s collection of foreign currency, pour over maps of the world, and loved driving by the airport just to get a glimpse of a plane taking off. My first travel memory is a long distance drive in a station wagon filled with family members. I don’t even remember where we were going, just that we were going somewhere.
Today I have my own collection of foreign currency and pour over travel books. I study travel routes in the back of the in-flight magazines. My means of transportation have gotten a bit better than that old station wagon, but the spirit of adventure is still there.
This site is a repository of my photos from past trips and a place to keep tabs on future adventures, anecdotes that I want to write down before I forget them and things I’ve learned along the way. You may remember me from the old MustBeWanderlust. If so, you may see some old favorites, but plenty of new adventures as well.
I hope you enjoy looking around. Please drop me a line and suggest new wanderlusts or ask questions about old ones.
